Yesterday, Sunday 14 May 2023, the announcement signal for the first race was scheduled for 11 am. Due to the calm, we set “AP” at the flagpole. Slowly the wind built up from north to north-east and around 1.30 pm we set sail for the first race of the European Championship.

The course was quickly set and 3 great races were sailed with wind from NNO at 8 – 12 knots.

We returned to the harbour around 6pm and boarded the buses for the gala evening at 7pm.

Gestern, Sontag 14. Mai 2023 war das Ankündigungssignal zur ersten Wettfahrt für 11 Uhr geplant. Aufgrund Flaute setzten wir am Flaggenmast „AP“. Langsam baute sich Wind aus Nord bis Nord-Ost auf und gegen 13 Uhr 30 liefen wir zur ersten Wettfahrt der Europameisterschaft aus.

Rasch war der Kurs gelegt und 3 tolle Wettfahrten mit Wind aus NNO mit Stäre 8 – 12 Kn konnten gesegelt werden.

Gegen 18 Uhr liefen wir zurück in den Hafen und stiegen gegen 19:00 in die Busse zum Galaabend.

Yesterday was the first sailing day of the Surprise European Championship at the AGS. At 12 noon, our chairman Helmut Sitter welcomed us, followed by the first briefing by the race officer Gert Schmidleidner.

The wind was good and we set off for the first race at 1 pm. The initially blowing NE wind then quickly shifted to the south. In the Gmundner Bay the wind was constant at about 8 knots, further south it dropped to about 4 knots, so that a race with constant and fair conditions was out of the question. After the wind dropped more and more, we returned to the harbour.

A short time later, a good easterly wind came up – we sailed out into the bay in front of Altmünster. But then rain set in, the wind shifted to north and then back to south. At 4.46 p.m. we set “AP” over “A”, as no more regular conditions were to be expected – unfortunately no race today.

Today, Sunday, the first start is scheduled for 11 am.

Gestern war der erste Segeltag der Surprise Europameisterschaft beim AGS. Um 12 Uhr fand die Begrüßung durch unseren Obmann Helmut Sitter stand, anschließend erfolgte das erste Briefing durch den Wettfahrtleiter Gert Schmidleidner.

Der Wind war gut und wir liefen um 13 Uhr zur ersten Wettfahrt aus. Der zuerst wehende NO-Wind drehte dann aber rasch auf Süd. In der Gmundner Bucht mit konstant mit ca. 8 kn, weiter südlich abnehmend auf ca. 4 kn, sodass an eine Wettfahrt mit konstanten und fairen Bedingungen nicht zu denken war. Nachdem der Wind immer mehr abflaute liefen wir zurück in den Hafen.

Kurze Zeit später kam guter Ostwind auf – wir liefen aus bis in die Bucht vor Altmünster. Dann aber setzte Regen ein, der Wind drehte auf Nord und dann wieder auf Süd. Um 16 Uhr 46 setzten wir, da keine regulären Bedingungen mehr zu erwarten warten, „AP“ über „A“ – heute leider keine Wettfahrt

Heute Sonntag ist der erste Start für 11 Uhr geplant.
